My story is of my mom’s battle with breast cancer, twice. Twelve years ago, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had one breast removed and had six months of chemotherapy. This was a very hard time for her, as it would be with anyone who has had to go through this.
She went faithfully to her check-ups after that, insisting the doctors do extensive testing. Ten years later, they found cancer again, this time in her other breast, which she had removed but didn’t need further treatment.
My mom is an amazing woman. She lives in fear everyday of cancer invading her body again. I thank God everyday for her. I have learned to stay on top of this and to get checked regularly. Early detection saves lives!
