Helping Others and Helping Our Own

As part of the PBA / NCA merger, both organizations have made a commitment to further expand charitable outreach in support of beauty professionals and the clients we serve.
PBA / NCA asks members and non-members alike to consider becoming involved with the following programs, because together we all can help change the lives of others and advance our industry.

Cut It Out:
Domestic abuse continues to plague our society and stylists/salons can play an important role in helping victims find their voice and a way to get the help they need. The Cut It Out program builds awareness of domestic abuse and trains salon professionals to recognize warning signs and safely refer clients to local resources. Use the power of your chair and your relationship to help. www.cutitout.org

Look Good...Feel Better:
In collaboration with the American Cancer Society and the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, learn how you can help women, men and teens with cancer look good, improve their self-esteem, and manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. This program needs volunteers nationwide who understand the program and can refer cancer patients on how to get involved. www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org

Dining For Change:
A great way to connect on a local level and network with fellow professionals in and out of the beauty industry, Dining For Change is an excellent program held in March and October primarily by individual stylists, salons, distributors, and manufacturers. From small potlucks to elaborate dinner parties, this is an opportunity to easily get involved and raise money supporting the aforementioned programs and the NCA Disaster Relief Fund. www.probeauty.org/diningforchange
